This Privacy Policy explains how CoffZeo (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles your information when you use the CoffZeo mobile application (“App”). CoffZeo is designed with a local-first approach: your logs and caffeine-related data are stored on your device and are not uploaded to our servers.
This policy refers specifically to the current version of CoffZeo, which focuses on drink logging, caffeine tracking, limit tracking, weekly intake tracking, and basic settings. If we significantly change how data is handled in a future version, we will update this document.
Core Principle: On-Device Storage
CoffZeo is built so that your caffeine information stays under your control. In the current version:
- Drink logs and caffeine calculations are stored locally on your device.
- We do not operate a CoffZeo cloud or database for your drink history.
- We do not collect your caffeine logs on our servers.
- We do not use third-party analytics SDKs inside the App to profile your behavior.
If you remove the App or reset your device, the local data stored by CoffZeo may be deleted unless it is included in your personal device backup (for example, iCloud or local backups managed by you and your operating system).
Information Stored on Your Device
To provide drink logging and caffeine tracking, the App may store the following data locally on your device:
- Drink logs: The drinks you choose or add (e.g., type of beverage from the in-app list, approximate caffeine value, time you logged it).
- Caffeine estimates: Calculated daily and weekly caffeine intake based on your logs so you can see simple trends.
- Limit and preference settings: Your personal caffeine limit, unit settings, and other app preferences (for example, whether certain insights are enabled).
- Basic app state: Data necessary for the App to function correctly (such as what view you last opened or if you completed onboarding).
This information is used solely within the App to provide you with its core features and improve your experience on your own device.
What We Do Not Collect
In the current version of CoffZeo, we do not:
- Collect your drink logs or caffeine data on our own servers.
- Collect your name, email address, or any direct personal identifiers from within the App interface.
- Track you across apps or websites using advertising identifiers for ad targeting.
- Embed third-party advertising SDKs or ad networks inside CoffZeo.
- Use analytics SDKs to build behavioral profiles based on your drink logging.
The only information we may indirectly see is that which you voluntarily provide if you contact us (for example by email) or what Apple shares in aggregated form through the App Store (such as download counts, crash reports, and anonymized sales summaries).
Purchases and App Store Data
CoffZeo may offer optional paid features (such as CoffZeo Pro) via in-app purchases or subscriptions. All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store:
- We do not handle your payment card details; these are processed by Apple according to their own terms and privacy policy.
- Apple may share high-level, aggregated information with us (for example, total number of purchases, country distribution, revenue figures) so we can understand how the App is performing.
- This App Store information does not contain your detailed drink logs and is not used to identify you personally inside CoffZeo.
Any receipts or purchase tokens used inside CoffZeo exist solely so the App can verify that a subscription or purchase is active on your device.
No Ads, No Third-Party Tracking
CoffZeo does not contain in-app advertisements. We do not integrate advertisement SDKs that track your behavior between apps or websites.
Likewise, we do not embed third-party analytics SDKs inside CoffZeo for behavioral tracking in the current version of the App. We may rely on high-level, aggregated analytics provided by Apple via the App Store (for example, anonymized crash information or device statistics) to maintain stability and improve the App, but this data is managed by Apple and does not include your detailed drink history.
Notifications and App Permissions
CoffZeo may request certain optional permissions from your device operating system, such as:
- Notifications: To send you local reminders related to your caffeine tracking (for example, gentle reminders to log drinks or to stay within your chosen daily limit). Notification scheduling is handled by your device, and the content is generated locally by the App.
Granting or revoking these permissions is completely under your control and can be changed at any time in your device settings. These permissions do not send your drink logs or caffeine data to our servers.
Your Choices and Control
Because CoffZeo stores your logs locally, you already have strong control over your data:
- You can edit or delete individual drink entries directly in the App, which updates the local data stored on your device.
- You can change or reset your caffeine limit and preferences at any time.
- If you uninstall CoffZeo, your local drink logs and settings may be removed from your device’s storage.
- If your device is backed up (for example using iCloud), then backups of CoffZeo data are managed by your operating system and Apple, not by us. You can control those backups in your system settings.
If you have questions about how to manage or delete your data on your device, you are welcome to contact us and we will do our best to guide you.
Contacting Us
If you contact us (for example via email), we will receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, name (if provided), and the content of your message. We use this information solely to respond to your request and provide support.
We do not link support messages back to your in-app drink logs, as we do not have access to those logs on our servers. We also do not sell or share your support emails with advertisers.
Children’s Privacy
CoffZeo is not designed for children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App. Because your logs remain on your device, we do not have visibility into whether the App is used by a child in your household.
If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns about your child’s use of CoffZeo, you can delete the App from their device and manage any relevant backups via the device’s operating system.
Data Security
Your drink and caffeine data are stored on your device and are protected by the security mechanisms of your operating system (such as device encryption, passcode, Face ID or Touch ID if enabled). We recommend using a strong device passcode and keeping your device’s operating system up to date.
Because we do not host your logs on our servers, there is no CoffZeo cloud database for an attacker to target. However, it is still important to protect physical access to your device and to manage your backups securely.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
As CoffZeo evolves, we may introduce new features or integrations that affect how data is handled. If we make meaningful changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the text on this page and may also provide notice in the App.
If we ever decide to collect or process your data beyond what is described here (for example, to support cloud sync or additional services), we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent before those changes take effect.
